According to pain management specialist Jordan Sudberg, companies with a high retention rate among young employees offer unique benefits that give each employee a sense of autonomy, messiness, and flexibility. These perks can come in paid internships, time off for study, or flexible schedules. People who have these specialized benefits in their workplace are more likely to stay with their company for longer, which ultimately allows them to gain experience and knowledge about what they want out of the industry.
Sudberg said that young people in their 20s and 30s are looking for jobs that let them work independently. In most workplaces, employees are expected to work on a team and to contribute by completing projects with others. However, this can be difficult for young people who want to make their name in the professional world. Sudberg said that it is important to allow employees to have periods where they can do things independently without having to answer to another person. Without this, young people are less likely to stay with the company for a long period.
A lot of younger employees like to work from home. A survey conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management found that 54 percent of respondents said they would never take a job that required them to work outside their home state. Only 10 percent said they would take a job that required them to move. The study showed that the average age of people who preferred working outside their home state was 29-years-old while the average age of people who preferred working in their home state was 44. In addition, the study found that most people over the age of 50 were not willing to work outside their own homes, further emphasizing how important it is for companies to provide a space for employees where they can work comfortably and with minimal distractions.

This is especially helpful for younger employees who have children or care for their elders.
